Luxor

The First moment when i arrived Luxor

Luxor is a city in southern Egypt, it has 8 cities divided on both banks of the Nile river
In old Pharaonic ages, it was known as Thebes city the capital of Egypt, then it changed to Manf City in the north
Luxor has frequently been characterized as the "world's greatest open-air museum", as the ruins of the temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor stand within the modern city. Immediately opposite, across the River Nile, lie the monuments, temples, and tombs of the West Bank Necropolis, which includes the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens.
I didn't write about Luxor before because I never visit it
I wanted to share with you my personal experience, not just a general talking copied from other websites, So now let's talking about my lovely Journey to Luxor
When I arrived by train in the morning from Cairo to Luxor, The first thing I noticed was how calm this
the city is, even in the morning it's not crowded like Cairo and that's why I felt so comfortable and ready to see more
The entrance of Al - Karnak Templet

Al Karnak Temple
This temple is worth to be visited twice and that's the first time i visited
the first time, you should visit it at night to enjoy the show of light and sound, it's just amazing to stand in the temple at night, see the light shadows on monuments and hear the Pharaos kings speak in your language to tell you their stories and how this great civilization started
This breathtaking show starts at 6 PM and lasts for 90 mins. The voices of pharaohs kings had been recorded by old Egyptian Actors and actress
That's what I saw on the first night in Luxor and it makes me want to stay in Al -Karnak temple forever!!!

Next day in the morning I went directly to the Temple again to see the monuments clearly

First, you will see huge pillars at the entrance. it had been built with amazing design, and if you can read the old Egyptian language, you will read hundreds of stories on each pillar.
some of these pillars ended with the shape of  Lotus flower which is sacred for Egyptians,

A Pillar ended with lotus flower and another without Lotus
so if you saw a lotus flower on the top it means that the sun visit this place and the pillar with closed lotus means the never visit this part, You can also see the status of king Ramsees II and his beautiful
 wife Queen Nefertari

Y
The sacred Lake of Amoon

If you walk straight a little you will see The Sacred lake of Amoon (the old Egyptian sun god ), it''s still connected to Nile river to make water fresh, you can see some beautiful pink fishes live there ( they are lucky to live in the Temple's Holy lake ) and I envy them
behind the lake you can see the status of The Holy Beetle, Old Egyptians believed that it's a symbol of Life and Luck.
So don't be stranger if you see tourist spins around the status for 3,7 or 9 times to have Happy luck

The status of the Holy Beetle

After finishing your visit to the temple, you will see many Beautiful Bazaars selling all kinds of souvenirs like kings and queens status, Pharaoinc scarfs, key medals, bags, etc

In the same day, I went to Luxor Temple

This temple located on the east bank of the Nile river, it's rich in monuments but smaller than Al-Karnak temple.
Luxor temple

Luxor Temple at night

It was constructed approximately 1400 BCE. Luxor temple is not dedicated to a cult god or a deified version of the king in death. Instead, Luxor temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship; it may have been where many of the kings of Egypt were crowned in reality or conceptually (as in the case of Alexander the Great who claimed he was crowned at Luxor but may never have traveled south of Memphis, near modern Cairo

At Night you can take a walk around the Tourist Market, you will see many bazaars and souvenirs, too, I recommend spices and cosmetics for you
You will find key medals, kings, and queens colorful status, clothes, Woven portrait, bags, T-shirts and accessories for women and girls. And you can buy many lovely things with a good price
you can Also ride Cabriolet, we call it ( Caritta ) and enjoy the ride near the Nile city at night

Hatshipsuut Temple

Inside Hatshipsuut Temple

Inside Hatshipsuut Temple

On the third day, you can directly go to
Hatshepsut Temple. Hatshepsut is the most popular Queens in Egyptian history, she became the queen after her father's death when she was only 20 years old.
People used to sing songs for her and the most popular song was in old Egyptian Movie named ( love in al-Karnak ) which was about Egyptian dance band traveled to Luxor to make a big show about Egyptian cultural dances. it's a lovely cheerful song which is associated with our culture and the funniest thing when I was in Hatshipsuut temple I found my self and my friends singing this song Automatically
My advice to you: it's important to take an umbrella and water with you because the temple is in the desert and it's really hot there

Kings valley - the tomb of Ramsees III

Kings valley - the tomb of Ramsees III

After this, you can go to Kings Valley and Queens valley. You will find there the tombs of King Ramsees II, King Ramsees III, and many other tombs.
The tomb's walls tell us many stories about the life of the kings and their achievements and also about their death
Kings valley still keeps most of the engraving on the walls with its colors for thousands of years and that's because the tombs are well closed
The tickets are a little more expensive than temples but it's really worthy. The most important advice I would like to tell: Don't enter the tombs in kings valley if you have problems in breathing normally
because the tomb is closed and you can't get fresh air inside
and if you like taking photos you should pay for this .it's not free in the king's valley but free in the other temples
Also, it's important to take umbrella and water with you because the valley is in the desert very near to Hatshipsuut temple

Habu Temple

The last temple I will talk about it King RamseesIII Temple which named also ( Habu Temple ) and this name may refer for two believes, the first one: maybe it's because of the Christian monk who lived there in the past and the second reason: Habu is the
same name of Amenhotub the son of king Habu
This temple is a funeral temple to Commemoration the kings of the new kingdom and it consists of a big hall with 2 towers the top of this tower was for the king's women, and Amoon status was made of gemstones. that's why people consider this temple as the most lavish funeral temple ever
Sugar cane juice
The banana Island
the way to the island

If you like to go to green and comfortable place, you should directly go to The bananas island
you will ride a boat across the Nile River to the island afternoon, and there you can eat the most delicious banana ever and also don't forget to try sugar cane juice ( it's the traditional juice all over Egypt ) and I am sure you will like the quite lovely place
At last, I want to say that Luxor has many lovely places to see but I was there for only three days and didn't see everything
people there are very kind and friendly and I felt amazing after this nice trip
